SIBT offers you a direct pathway to university. Successfully complete a SIBT diploma and then progress directly into second year of your bachelor degree studies at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus.

With flexible entry criteria, smaller classes, student support and a personalised learning experience, SIBT helps you to increase your academic performance and prepare you for life beyond the lecture room.

ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER

Successful applicants need to accept their offer by following the steps outlined by SIBT. Please refer to your Letter of Offer for more details. 

ADVANCED STANDING

You may apply for credit transfer for prior learning (exemptions) if you have undertaken formal study in a recognised tertiary institution in Australia. These include universities, colleges, TAFE and other post-secondary education institutions. Overseas institutions will be recognised if they are considered to be the equivalent of Australian institutions. Students applying for exemptions must complete the exemptions application form, which should be submitted to SIBT prior to enrolment. 

ORIENTATION

New students are required to attend a compulsory on-campus orientation session. During orientation you will:

  • enrol in your units
  • create your timetable
  • receive your student identification card
  • receive important information about services and facilities
  • participate in a campus tour and other activities.

DEFERMENT

SIBT Sydney campus is located in the heart of Sydney’s business district, directly across from Hyde Park and just minutes from shopping centres, services, and cafés.

SIBT has a range of student support services. These include an onsite library, counselling, academic assistance and learning support, and employment and career advice.

SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES 

SIBT has dedicated support services for students with disabilities and special needs. SIBT is committed to providing equal opportunities to students with disabilities and promotes strategies to develop a flexible teaching and learning environment to meet the needs of a diverse range of students. SIBT encourages students to provide information (including medical or other professional advice) regarding the nature of their disability and special needs during the application and enrolment process.

ACCOMMODATION

Studying in the city centre of Sydney means SIBT students have a variety of accommodation options choose from which will suit their individual lifestyle and budget.

SIBT has agreements with Iglu student accommodation, Urbanest Sydney, Unilodge and a selection of homestay providers offering approved accommodation within private residences, and can accommodate students under 18 years of age. To find out more, visit the SIBT website.

Fees and charges

Undergraduate applicants

Tuition fees are required to be paid prior to the census date for each study period. SIBT offers Australian citizens and permanent humanitarian visa holders the opportunity to access the FEE-HELP loan scheme. Under this scheme, the Australian Government will pay your SIBT tuition fees (for Diploma units only). Students will be required to repay this loan through the taxation system once their income is above the minimum repayment threshold.
