Australian Catholic University

ACU Foundation Studies now offered online

The Foundation Studies Program provides a pathway to ACU undergraduate degrees for students who wish to study at university but do not have a recognised Year 12 qualification. Students can choose to transfer to study on campus or online, and they will be provided with live personalised support to assist them with progression to their degree program at ACU.

Diploma in Exercise Science available at ACU Strathfield Campus from 2024

From 2024, ACU’s Diploma in Exercise Science will also be available at the Strathfield campus. Diplomas support students from start to finish. ACU ensures smaller class sizes, offers tailored support as students transition to university study, and provides a range of student services to help them succeed. Students who successfully complete this diploma can transition into the second year of a range of Exercise Science degrees or a number of other related bachelor degrees at ACU.

New ACT Government Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship

The ACT Government has introduced new nursing and allied health scholarships from 2023, which is available to students studying nursing and social work at ACU Canberra Campus. The scholarships are valued at $9,000 and will be paid in instalments each semester.

Students don’t need to submit a separate scholarship application; when they apply for a relevant course, they'll automatically be assessed for eligibility.

New Secondary Education STEM Scholarship

Students can unlock their opportunities with a STEM scholarship. ACU is offering $5,000 scholarships to support up to 10 students in their journeys to become secondary teachers within the STEM disciplines.

Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE)

ACPE Experience Day

ACPE offers a range of pathways and alternative entry options to support students' aspirations. ACPE’s next Experience Day will be held on Friday 15 December from 10am to 2pm. They will spend the day with the friendly student support team, be a part of ‘tutorial bites’ to gain further insight into the classroom and how it leads to a career within the sport or dance industry. There will also be current students available on the day to get firsthand insight into studying at ACPE.

Campus tours

ACPE wants to show students around its state-of-the-art campus, located in the sports hub of Sydney Olympic Park. Campus tours are available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Pre-college Kick-off

Pre-college Kick-off sessions are held for new students prior to orientation week to assist with enrolling into units and timetables and providing information on fee-help & eCAF (Commonwealth assistance) forms. These sessions are a great way for students to meet other new students and ACPE staff in advance. Pre-college Kick-off sessions will be held in January and February 2024.

Charles Sturt University

ATAR Advice Days

Charles Sturt University is running in-person ATAR Advice Days on 14 December from 11am to 3pm and Friday 15 December from 9am to 12pm. Students are invited to come to campus at Albury–Wodonga, Bathurst, Port Macquarie or Wagga Wagga to get the answers they need. Students will be able to chat with current students, explore the campus with a personalised tour and get the advice they need to help arrange their preferences straight after ATAR release.

Students can also get information on courses, accommodation, scholarships and discover what happens next with offer rounds and starting university.

For students thinking of studying IT, computing or civil engineering

Students are welcome to come along to one of Charles Sturt’s online drop-in sessions with their course director and have their questions answered.

Engineering

The engineering team, who are also practising engineers with industry connections, will be available for online drop-in sessions every Thursday evening between 6:30pm and 7pm, until 14 December. Students can log in to ask questions and learn more about the $20,000 scholarships on offer, how Charles Sturt’s engineering courses are structured so they will earn while they learn with paid cadetships, and about studying Civil Engineering in general at Charles Sturt.

IT and Computer Science

Course Director Jason Howarth will be available for online drop-in sessions every Tuesday between 1pm and 1:30pm, until 12 December. Students can log in to ask questions and learn more about how Charles Sturt’s industry connections can help them be job-ready, with paid internships with IBM and Axiom Connected, and about studying IT or Computer Science in general at Charles Sturt.

CQUniversity

Change of Preference Online Chat – Friday 15 December

For those Year 12 students who received an unexpected ATAR or have changed their mind about the course they want to study in 2024, CQU can help. Students can join CQU’s online chat session and receive guidance on how to change their preferences, learn more about alternative entry pathways and find the best study options that will lead them to their dream course. Head over to the CQUniversity Facebook page to send a message during the session and receive real-time answers.

From Tuesday 12 December to Sunday 17 December 2023, 10am to 4pm, prospective students can book a one-on-one consultation with one of Macquarie’s friendly students, attend an info session, join a campus tour to discover the facilities and grounds, get help with enrolling or finding their own unique pathway into university.

Info Day 2023 - Thursday 14 December

Students can visit one of the University of Newcastle’s campuses to get all their questions answered and kickstart their uni journey. If they have questions about studying in 2024 or didn’t quite get the marks they need, Info Day is a chance to chat with the admissions and pathways teams to help students understand their adjusted ATAR and entry options. University of Notre Dame Australia

Options Day Sydney 2023 - Friday 15 December

    Students can join the University of Notre Dame at their inner city Broadway Campus the day after ATAR release to discuss their range of program options, change of preferences and enrolment. They can also talk to them about their early offer. Students can get a taste of uni life as a Notre Dame student, attend an info session, chat to faculty staff and current students or enjoy a campus tour.

    They can prepare for Semester 1, 2024 with personalised assistance and advice on their UAC preferences, specific programs and courses, and insights into the application process at Notre Dame.

    New degrees

    Notre Dame University is offering a number of new degrees in 2024.

    • New Pathways into the Doctor of Medicine New to the Sydney Campus, a variety of Bachelor of Biomedical Science degrees enable students to gain a strong understanding of advanced scientific investigations to prepare them for a range of careers, such as a biochemist, researcher or biomedical scientist. The Bachelor of Biomedical Science degrees also offer new pathways for aspiring doctors to progress into Notre Dame’s Doctor of Medicine. See details of the assured and priority pathways.
    • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology* This degree offers students the chance to develop foundational knowledge and skills in psychology within a comprehensive liberal arts program, allowing them to complement their studies of psychology with an engaging range of majors or minors from a range of other areas of study. *This program has been provisionally accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as a Level 1 program on the pathway to registration as a psychologist.
    • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) This degree allows students to make a positive impact on people’s lives, working within a multidisciplinary team. Focusing on practice across a range of contexts and life stages, they will develop evidence-based skills within the context of a holistic approach to health care that emphasises the cognitive, psychological and emotional aspects of health care requirements and delivery. You benefit from 1,000 hours of professional work-integrated learning throughout the degree that ensures students are work-ready immediately upon graduation. This is an embedded honours program for all students with an industry or research stream available. Note: Notre Dame is currently seeking accreditation of the occupational therapy program with the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia Ltd and approval by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

    This webinar series will provide information for Year 12 students, parents and guardians to help them confidently navigate the UAC offer rounds, engage with offers received and use the UAC system to their advantage.     Western Sydney University Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program

    The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Entry Program is an alternative university entry program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Applicants can gain entry to any undergraduate degree (except Medicine which has its own Indigenous pathway program) at Western Sydney University by completing our entry assessment and be supported throughout their education journey. Assessments in January are conducted online and students can register now for the pathway program.
