Western Sydney University English language proficiency requirements

Western Sydney University recognises a number of English language tests as proof of English language proficiency. These are set out in the following tables, together with the minimum results required.

Highlighted English language proficiency requirements have been updated since applications opened. Please confirm all requirements with Western Sydney University.

Make sure you also read about qualifications that usually satisfy ELP.

Contact the Western Sydney University Admissions Office if you have undertaken one of the following:

  • a minimum of four years of completed Australian senior secondary studies but you were not eligible for an ATAR/UAI/TER
  • incomplete AQF Diploma or Advanced Diploma where you have completed at least 3/4 of the course and your GPA is 3 or above
  • Australian university studies where the minimum full-time equivalence is one semester
  • overseas university studies where the minimum full-time equivalence is one year and the medium of instruction of the course is English.
