Australian National University

Australian National University

The only university to be established by the Commonwealth Government, The Australian National University (ANU) is where our nation learns. ANU has a rich history and, since 1946, has set the standard in teaching, research and community engagement. Part of the Group of Eight, we’re recognised as one of Australia’s leading universities for education and we’re the only Australian member of the prestigious International Alliance of Research Universities.

Ours is a vibrant and diverse community where you will form close bonds through shared experiences with your peers, and be nurtured and encouraged by a University-wide support network. You will have the chance to engage with industry and government leaders through internship programs, and see the world by participating in our outstanding student exchange programs.

What’s more, we’ve made it easier for domestic school leavers to choose ANU by making applications simpler than they have ever been. We’ve developed a new approach to admission that maintains the highest possible academic standards while making the transition to university more welcoming, merit-based, transparent and representative of Australia. Our new approach also values generosity, leadership and community service through our new co-curricular or service requirement — now a mandatory aspect of admission for domestic school leavers.

For the first time ever you can apply for admission, campus accommodation and scholarships in one single, free application.

When you choose ANU, you will be joining a community of talented, diverse students who come from every corner of Australia and the world. You will be choosing an unrivalled educational experience which is among the global best. You will learn from world-class researchers and make connections that will last a lifetime. ANU counts six Nobel Prize winners and two Australian prime ministers among its staff and alumni.
