Thinking of study in 2026? Apply now to lock in the early bird fee
IF you’re considering study in 2026 and haven’t yet applied, now is the perfect time. All courses for semester 1, 2026 are now available through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) – and more than 26,000 Year 12 students have already applied.
With just one application, you can apply to any of UAC’s 31 participating institutions, offering more than 2,600 courses across hundreds of subject areas.
Applying through UAC also gives Year 12 students access to apply for an early offer through the Schools Recommendation Scheme; have their disadvantages considered through the Educational Access Scheme; and have the opportunity to ease the financial burden of uni study through an Equity Scholarship.
Kim Paino, UAC spokesperson, encourages students to submit their application ahead of the early bird fee deadline on Tuesday 30 September, when the application fee increases.
‘We know a lot of school leavers aren’t completely sure about what they want to study – and that's totally fine. The good news is they can change their preferences later. What’s important is getting your application in now to lock in the early bird fee.’
There’s lots of information available to guide students make informed decisions. They can explore courses through UAC’s course search or attend a uni open day to learn more.
