Over 41,000 students off to uni in 2026
OVER 41,000 university applicants can breathe a sigh of relief today as the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) releases its December Round 2 offers for study in 2026.
From 7.30am, applicants will receive their offers via email and can also check their results by logging into their application on UAC’s website.
This marks the first ATAR-based offer round of the year. Kim Paino, UAC Chief Strategy and Engagement Officer said: ‘These 41,199 offers are significant for students as they include many high-demand courses. We encourage those who received an offer to accept it. For those who didn’t receive their first choice – or didn’t receive an offer at all – we recommend changing preferences ahead of the next offer round. There are many pathways to further study, and if students are unsure about their next steps, we encourage them to contact UAC or their preferred universities for guidance.’
Universities have also published the Lowest Selection Rank (formerly known as cut-offs) required for course entry. This information will be available on UAC’s website from 7.30am on Tuesday, helping applicants refine their course preferences before upcoming offer rounds.
Applicants have until 11.59pm on Tuesday 30 December 2025 to adjust their preferences for the next ATAR offer round, released on Thursday 8 January 2026.
For those who haven’t yet applied, there’s still time! Applications for semester 1, 2026 remain open until Friday 6 February 2025.
For more information, visit UAC’s website or call UAC Customer Service on Tel: (02) 9752 0200 Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
