Levelling the playing field for Year 12 students

17 Nov 2025

AS the stress of final exams fades, Year 12 students whose education has been disrupted by health issues, personal hardship or other challenges can still have their circumstances taken into account.

The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) is encouraging eligible students to apply for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) – a program designed to ensure that determination and effort are recognised alongside ATAR results. EAS gives students a fair chance to access university study in 2026, even if their schooling journey hasn’t been smooth.

This year alone, more than 25,300 students have already applied for EAS, demonstrating the difference it’s making for young people across the country.

Students who want to be considered for EAS in time for the main ATAR offer round on Tuesday 23 December must submit their EAS application and all supporting documents by 11.59pm tomorrow, Tuesday 18 November. Applicants should ensure their UAC application is completed first.

Find out more about EAS or call Customer Service on (02) 9752 0200.
