Now is the time to apply for study in 2024

07 Aug 2023

WELL over 23,000 Year 12 students have applied for uni in 2024 according to figures released by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

For those who are considering study in 2024 and haven’t yet applied, now is the time, with all courses for semester 1, 2024 available on UAC’s website. In one application, students can apply for study at any of UAC’s 31 participating institutions, offering more than 2,500 courses in hundreds of subject areas.

Having a UAC application also enables students to apply for an early offer through the Schools Recommendation Scheme, to have their disadvantages considered through the Educational Access Scheme, or for an Equity Scholarship to help ease the financial burden of uni study.

Kim Paino, General Manager of Marketing and Engagement, says students should apply before the early bird deadline on Friday 29 September, after which the application fee increases.

'Even if they’re not sure yet what they want to study, they should apply now as they’ll have plenty of time to change their preferences in time for offer rounds later in the year.'

For Year 12 students who have already applied, now is a good time to log back in to their application to review and update their course preferences

There’s lots of information available to guide students with their decision-making.

They can check UAC’s course search or visit a uni open day.

UAC is also running a social media live event on Wednesday 30 August, where students can ask questions about the ATAR, early offer schemes, applying for uni and more.
