Applications for uni still strong

AS at 31 October, the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) had received 72,542 applications for undergraduate study in 2021 – an increase of 2,940 since early bird applications closed on 30 September 2020, with gains in applicant numbers evident across all student categories.

In addition to applying through UAC, many students have also applied directly to individual universities for study next year to maximise their chances of receiving an offer. UAC has processed another 73,593^ of these applications on behalf of individual universities, bringing the total applications to 146,135.

UAC processes direct applications on behalf of Australian National University, Australian Catholic University, CQU, Charles Sturt University, Macquarie University, University of New England, University of Wollongong and Western Sydney University.

It’s important to note that these figures are as at 31 October only. Applications for first semester 2021 are open until Friday 5 February 2021.
