Undergraduate applicants by category, gender, offers and age (2016-2023)

Every year more than 50,000 Year 12 students, as well as non-Year 12 and international students apply for tertiary study through UAC. Applicants can can apply for up to five courses at any of UAC's participating institutions.

UAC processes these applications, however the institutions decide who received an offer of a place and UAC advises applicants of their offers on behalf of the institution.

The following data shows undergraduate applicants and offers by category (Year 12, Non-Year 12 and International) as well as undergraduate applicants by age.

2023

In the 2022-23 admissions period UAC had 76,306 applicants and made a total of 105,488 offers through its centralised system.

2022

In the 2021-22 admissions period UAC had 80,487 applicants and made a total of 107,825 offers through its centralised system.

2021

In the 2020-21 admissions period UAC had 84,752 applicants and made a total of 115,632 offers through its centralised system.

2020

In the 2019-20 admissions period UAC had 79,168 applicants and made 104,669 offers through its centralised system.

2019

In the 2018-19 admissions period UAC had 75,177 applicants and made 101,241 offers through its centralised system.

Note: The 2018-19 admissions cycle was shorter than previous admission cycles. It ran from 1 August 2018 to 8 February 2019. Previous year application cycles typically opened from early August but closed in July of the following year.

In the 2017-18 admissions period UAC had 82,974 applicants and made 115,781 offers.

2017

In the 2016-17 admissions period UAC had 89,556 applicants and made 103,812 offers.
