Australian Catholic University

2024 ACU Advisory Conferences

Network with ACU academic staff and current students, learn about new and changing courses, and participate in a professional development session.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Away from Base Program

Away from Base gives students the chance to remain in community while studying. They can combine face-to-face learning on campus with online study and will be supported by Indigenous Higher Education Units. Courses include:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (NSW)
  • Diploma in Educational Studies (Tertiary Preparation) (NSW)
  • Bachelor of Education (Primary) (NSW)

Program updates

  • ACU has added two APAC-accredited psychology double degrees to its psychology offerings in 2024: Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (undertaken across Strathfield and North Sydney campuses) and Bachelor of Psychological Science /Bachelor of Nutrition Science (undertaken across Strathfield and Blacktown campuses).
  • The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and The Bachelor of Speech Pathology will be offered at ACU Canberra from semester 1, 2025. Both programs are fully accredited in Melbourne, North Sydney and Brisbane.

Experience Macquarie Days for students

Run during the April school holidays for Year 11 and 12 students, Experience Macquarie Days include information sessions, interactive workshops and tours of Macquarie’s facilities and learning spaces.

  • Tue 16 Apr: Arts – Discover arts and social sciences; education; law; media, communications and creative arts; languages; and security, intelligence and criminology
  • Wed 17 Apr: Business – Explore accounting; actuarial studies; business analytics; commerce; economics; finance; management; and marketing
  • Thu 18 Apr: Medicine, Health and Human Sciences – Discover linguistics; medicine and health; and psychology and cognitive science

National Art School

2024 HSC Intensive program for Year 11 students

The NAS HSC Intensive is taught by professional artists who know what it takes to succeed in the art world. Students get to work in professional art studios and build up their art portfolio. To apply for the course, students need to be high achievers in the Preliminary Visual Arts course and will need an endorsement from their Visual Arts teacher. Applications close Fri 12 Apr.

Admissions

NAS will be participating in three offer rounds for 2025 admission:

  • Early admissions round is September Round 2.
  • Schools Recommendation Scheme round is November Round 1.
  • Main admissions round is December Round 2.

All applicants should review NAS key dates.

Scholarships

  • NAS First Peoples Scholarship: covers the full tuition fees for students entering the Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) program. Two full-tuition scholarships are offered each calendar year for the duration of the degree.
  • Ernest Heine Family Foundation BFA Scholarship Program: covers the full tuition fees and a stipend for students entering the BFA program. Two scholarships valued at $105,000 each are awarded each calendar year for the duration of the degree. One scholarship is equity-based and the other is to support a student from rural/regional NSW to study at NAS.
