ATARs released this week to NSW HSC students
NSW HSC students are set to reach a major milestone this week as they receive their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) from 9am this Thursday 18 December.
The ATAR is a rank used by universities to select school leavers for entry into university courses. UAC research has shown that the ATAR is a reliable predictor of success in first year university study and allows universities to select from among the many applicants for high-demand courses in a fair and consistent way.
To help students and parents prepare for Thursday’s ATAR release, UAC will be holding a live session at 6pm on Tuesday 16 December, streaming on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
On ATAR release day on 18 December, HSC students will receive an email or an SMS with a link to the ATAR login page. To view their ATAR, they’ll need their NESA Year 12 student number and UAC PIN. They can also view and securely store their ATAR using the free digital wallet, CredFolio.
Students have until 11.59pm on Thursday 18 December to finalise their course preferences for the first ATAR-based offer round on Tuesday 23 December.
IB Admissions Scores (IBAS) for NSW and ACT International Baccalaureate candidates will be available from 10am on Thursday 18 December.
For personalised support after ATAR release, students can reach out to UAC’s ATAR Enquiry Centre on (02) 9119 5012 from 8.30am to 6.30pm on Thursday 18 December. The centre will also be open on Friday 19 and Monday 22 December.
For general application enquiries, students can call UAC Customer Service on (02) 9752 0200 from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, with extended hours until 6.30pm on Thursday 18 December.
