English language proficiency

Western Sydney University recognises a number of English language tests as proof of English language proficiency. These are set out in the following tables, together with the minimum results required.

PTE Online, IELTS Online, TOEFL iBT home edition and OET@Home tests are not assessed.

Make sure you also read about qualifications that usually satisfy ELP.

Contact the Western Sydney University Admissions Office if you have completed one of the following:

  • a minimum of four years of Australian senior secondary studies but you were not eligible for an ATAR/UAI/TER
  • Australian university studies where the minimum full-time equivalence is one semester
  • overseas university studies where the minimum full-time equivalence is one year and the medium of instruction of the course was English. Your qualification will be assessed by the university on a case-by-case basis.
