Thousands of students are off to uni

23 Dec 2020

MORE than 34,000 hopeful university applicants can rest easy over the Christmas break with the release today of December Round 2 offers for study in 2021.

Applicants received their offers via email from 7.30am and could also view their offers on the UAC website.

UAC General Manager of Marketing and Engagement, Kim Paino said, ‘Universities have made 34,701 offers in this round, which is down on the 38,000 offers made at the same time last year. That’s not surprising given the large increase in early offers this year, and it’s still great news for students who either hadn’t yet received an offer or were waiting on an offer to a more preferred course.’

Universities have also released the Lowest Selection Rank (previously known as a cut-off) required for entry into each course. This information is now available on the UAC website and can be used by applicants looking to change their preferences for the offer rounds still to come.

Applicants have until midnight on Sunday 3 January 2021 to change preferences to be included in January Round 1 on Friday 8 January.

And if they haven’t applied yet it’s not too late – applications for study in semester 1 are open until Friday 5 February. More information is available on UAC’s website.
