Another chance to secure a place at uni

12 Jan 2023

HOPEFUL applicants have another chance of securing a place at university in 2023 when UAC releases a further 13,400 offers in January Round 1 today.

Applicants will receive their offers via email from 7.30am and can also view their offer by logging in to their application through UAC's website. Details of the lowest selection rank (previously known as the cut-off) for entry into each course will be provided on UAC's website. Institutions will also indicate whether or not each course still has vacancies.

Answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about January Round 1 are available to help applicants navigate their next steps.

The next offer round (January Round 2) is on Wednesday 25 January. Applicants need to finalise their preferences for that round by midnight on Thursday 19 January.

UAC General Manager of Marketing and Engagement Kim Paino says it’s an important time for students finalising their plans for this year.

‘Congratulations to those students who have received an offer and are looking forward to starting uni this year. For those who have missed out, I’d encourage them to look at courses that still have vacancies for the next offer round and also think about all the other pathways available to get to university and study your preferred course.'

For those who haven’t applied, it’s not too late, with applications for first semester study open until midnight on Friday 3 February.
