ATARs released in one week

07 Dec 2018

MORE than 55,000 NSW HSC students will be able to access their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) from 9am on Friday 14 December. The ATAR is the rank used by universities to select school leavers for entry into university courses.

It can be a nervous time for those waiting for their results. William Marshall was in this position last year and offers some advice to Year 12 students: ‘You have so much time to dwell about your future when school finishes,’ he says. ‘I think it’s really important to keep yourself occupied.’

Students can access their ATAR on the My UAC mobile app or on UAC’s website. Students will need their Year 12 student number (or UAC application number) and their UAC PIN to access their ATAR, so we advise students to make sure they have those numbers ready.

Students will then be able to download their ATAR Advice Notices from 10am on that day.

‘When I finally got my ATAR I felt like all the work I put in was worth it. It was like closure to my high school experience,’ William says.

Students with questions about their ATAR can call UAC’s ATAR Enquiry Centre on 1300 MY ATAR (1300 692 827), (02) 9119 5012 from mobiles, or +61 2 9119 5012 from overseas, on the following days:

  • Friday 14 December, 8.30am–6.00pm
  • Monday 17 December, 8.30am–4.30pm
  • Tuesday 18 December, 8.30am–4.30pm
  • Wednesday 19 December, 8.30am–4.30pm.

Students can change their preferences for the December Round 2 offers until midnight on Sunday 16 December. December Round 2 offers are released at 7.30am on Thursday 20 December 2018.

For those who haven’t applied, it’s not too late – applications for university study in first semester 2019 are open until Friday 8 February 2019.

For more information about applying to university, visit UAC’s website or call UAC on 1300 275 822 (from mobiles on (02) 9752 0200).
