Another bumper year for early offers for Year 12 students

16 Nov 2021

THE Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) has released more than 15,000 Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) early offers in November Round 1, a 25 per cent increase on the 12,000 SRS offers made at the same time last year.

SRS offers are usually based on criteria other than a student’s ATAR, such as their Year 11 results and ratings from their school.

The increased offers have been driven by an increase in applications – there were 25,479 applications for SRS this year, a 7.26 per cent increase on 2020 – and greater demand for early offers in a disrupted year.

Kim Paino, General Manager of Marketing and Engagement at UAC says, ‘I hope these offers are good news for all those HSC students currently in the midst of their final exams. It’s been such a challenging year for them, but they’re almost there and having an early offer could give them some extra momentum as they finish Year 12 and look forward to their future after school'.

For students who have missed out an on offer this time, there are three more SRS offer rounds to come – November Round 2, December Round 1 and January Round 1.

ATAR-based offers will not be released until January Round 2 on Wednesday 26 January. Students will receive their ATAR at 9am on Thursday 20 January and need to change their course preferences by midnight on Friday 21 January in time for that Round.

For those that haven’t applied yet, there’s still time. Applications for semester 1, 2022 are open until Friday 4 February 2022, with more than 2,300 courses offered by 26 participating institutions.
