Studying social work will equip you with the skills to make a difference and impact people’s lives. Social workers are concerned with personal and social relationships between individuals, families, groups, organisations and communities. They seek to relieve distress, redress inequality, promote social justice and participate in the processes of social change which remove structural disadvantage and create opportunities for people to achieve their own goals.
Aboriginal studies, law for social work, psychology, social policy and planning, social work, social work practice skills, social work ethics and sociology.
Case manager, aged care, child protection, health, education, disability, family and relationship counselling, mental health and substance use, social policy and advocacy, refugees and asylum seekers, income support and housing, community development.

Students are given the opportunity to undertake practical placements with rewarding fieldwork opportunities over 1,000 hours of supervised field placements. During this placement students will be engaged in work in social work focused organisations including government departments, health facilities, family and community services, hospitals, non government community organisations etc.
All students who complete the requirements of the program will graduate with an honours degree. Graded honours is based on merit and awarded to eligible students based on performance in the honours research and thesis components.

Honours
Applicants should note that under the revised Australian Qualifications Framework some programs are four-year programs available with direct entry. Other programs are three-year Bachelor degree programs. Meritorious students have the option to apply for an additional one-year end-on component after graduation.
