The Bachelor of Information Technology via the Diploma of Information Technology is a direct pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology.
Take the first step toward your future by undertaking the Diploma of Information Technology. This diploma is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree and will introduce you to the fundamental concepts of business systems, computer science, cybersecurity, database design, games design, programming and software engineering.
If you successfully complete the diploma, you will progress directly into the second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology without losing any time, as you’ll receive credit for the units you complete in the diploma.
Once you enter the Bachelor of Information Technology, you’ll acquire foundational skills in programming, data storage and modelling, networking and cybersecurity. This degree will help you develop broad and coherent knowledge and skills from an area of information technology – such as software design and construction, applied data modelling and analysis, or security problem detection and mitigation – and learn how to apply that knowledge to solve real-world problems. You’ll even learn how to relate your knowledge and skills in information technology to a broader societal context and make sound decisions regarding ethical and security concerns.
