About

This program provides students with the specialist knowledge and skills required to shape the future of the tourism and heritage sectors in Australia and internationally. Graduates will be equipped to deliver sustainability and innovation outcomes through working in a variety of managerial, operational, policy, planning and research roles.

Admission criteria

Either:

  • undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline; or
  • advanced diploma, or equivalent, in tourism, heritage, geography, social science, cultural studies, humanities, business, hospitality, events, environmental management, or a related discipline and five years’ full-time equivalent work experience at a managerial or professional level in roles related to tourism, heritage and/or the visitor economy.

Master of Sustainable Tourism and Heritage - 1.5 Year Pathway (120 credit points)

Either:

  • undergraduate degree, or higher, in tourism, heritage, geography, social science, cultural studies, humanities, business, hospitality, events, environmental management, or a related discipline; or
  • undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline and two years’ full-time equivalent work experience in roles related to tourism, heritage and/or the visitor economy; or
  • undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline and five years' full-time equivalent general work experience; or
  • an advanced diploma, or equivalent, in tourism, heritage, geography, social science, cultural studies, humanities, business, hospitality, events, environmental management, or a related discipline and five years' full-time equivalent work experience at a managerial or professional level in roles related to tourism, heritage and/or the visitor economy.

Master of Sustainable Tourism and Heritage - 1 Year Pathway (80 credit points)

Either:

  • honours degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, or higher, in tourism, heritage, geography, social science, cultural studies, humanities, business, hospitality, events, environmental management, or a related discipline; or
  • undergraduate degree in tourism, heritage, geography, social science, cultural studies, humanities, business, hospitality, events, environmental management, or a related discipline and two years full-time equivalent work experience in roles related to tourism and/or heritage.

Applicants must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.
