About

Comprising six subjects of study, the Graduate Diploma in Interpreting is suited to fluent bilinguals seeking a theoretical background as they acquire the high-level skills necessary to practise as professional interpreters. All practical components are informed by the theories of interpreting, translation, related disciplines, and the results of current research. Subject to demand, the languages available are Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish or Vietnamese.

This program is an Endorsed Qualification for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) at the Certified Interpreter level.

Admission criteria

  • Undergraduate degree or postgraduate qualification in any discipline.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in one of the following languages: Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese.
