About

A Master of Translation and TESOL from Western lets you transform your English language ability into a desirable and marketable skill, and qualifies you to teach English as a second language. Subject to demand, Western offers specialisations in Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Vietnamese. This program also provides practical and theoretical training in interpreting and translation, including linguistics, and equips you with the research skills necessary to conduct a small research project in your area of interest.

Taught out of our innovative Parramatta City Campus, you’ll emerge with an advanced skills base that lets you combine travel with career opportunities, both home and abroad.

Admission criteria

  • Undergraduate degree or postgraduate qualification in any discipline.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in one of the following languages: Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese.
