About

This Masters program by coursework is offered to medical graduates undertaking specialist training in anatomical pathology.

This is a two year program with conference weeks and online learning modules covering both surgical pathology and cytopathology, and is aimed to provide you with the necessary level of diagnostic knowledge to aid your successful completion of specialist training in pathology.

The program is designed to help meet the expectations required to obtain Fellowship to practice as a qualified anatomical pathologist either locally or overseas.

Admission criteria

  • Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent Australian or overseas degree in medicine; and
  • current and continuing employment for the two year duration of the program in a supervised training position in anatomical pathology as approved by the Royal College of Pathologist of Australasia (RCPA) or equivalent overseas college; or
  • for qualified pathologists, proof of fellowship with RCPA or equivalent overseas college and registration with AHPRA or other appropriate regulatory body.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.
