Courses included
Increasingly in the digital age, data plays an important role in many occupations. Extracting information from data has become a science in itself, blending skill sets from mathematics, statistics and computing to help companies drive informed decision making and problem solving.
During this program applicants will learn about the various types of data, the extraction of relevant and meaningful data, as well as developing the analytical skills to turn this data into valuable insights. Throughout your studies you will learn how to efficiently identify trends, understand customers and predict behaviour, detect fraud, and identify credit risk.
Western’s Master of Data Science provides a strong applications focus, covering the nature of data, including big data and data driven investigations, as well as visual and computational analytics.
On completion of the program, students will have completed two self-guided master projects, and will graduate with the confidence and skills to draw out meaningful insights with actionable metrics.
