About

The Graduate Certificate in Information and Communications Technology is proposed as a pathway for non-Information and Communications Technology (ICT) graduates, with or without professional experience in the ICT field, to study ICT subjects.

The speed of change in ICT requires everyone to update their knowledge every few years. This Graduate Certificate program provides a foundation in ICT whereby you can gain knowledge and confidence to proceed to further studies and career advancement. The
program is also designed to enable inexperienced, non-ICT students to enter a career in ICT. The choice of any four subjects will enable you to tailor the program according to your own individual needs and plans.

You will benefit from the University's policies on recognition of prior learning by allowing a matching of an individual's professional experience against specific subjects that form part of the Graduate Certificate in ICT.

Admission criteria

Either:

  • undergraduate degree in any discipline; or
  • diploma in any discipline and five years’ full-time equivalent work experience in information and communications technologies, which includes experience in programming, networking, database design and development, systems analysis and design, and project management; or
