The speed of change in Information and Communications Technology requires everyone to update their knowledge every few years. Western Sydney University programs recognise this. The Master of Information and Communications Technology (Advanced) prepares computing professionals and recent graduates for work in the information and communications technologies sector at the top of today's thoroughly globalised and networked environment. The program combines both web engineering and networking specialisations, giving a strong foundation for your professional life in computing.

You will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to deal effectively with advanced issues in information and communications technologies.

Admission criteria

Undergraduate degree in any discipline.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.

Credit for Prior Learning

Applicants who have successfully completed:

  • an Australian Computer Society accredited (or equivalent) Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Computing or Information Systems; or
  • Honours degree or Master degree in any discipline; or
  • an Australian (or equivalent) Graduate Certificate in ICT may be eligible for up to 40 credit points of Credit for Prior Learning subject to approval by the relevant Directors of Academic Programs (DAP).

Applicants who have successfully completed an Australian (or equivalent) Graduate Diploma in ICT may be eligible for up to 80 credit points of Credit for Prior Learning subject to approval by the relevant Directors of Academic Programs (DAP).
