About

The Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning is a fully online program designed to introduce you to postgraduate study in the financial planning sector with the option to continue into a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and a Master of Financial Planning.

Students will learn the nature and process of financial planning and financial planning participants within the Australian economic, legal, social, cultural and ethical environment.

The key influences affecting the client relationship are identified along with a focus on the use of verbal and non-verbal communication skills to develop client rapport. This involves evaluating data collection and risk tolerance tools and identifying the impact of the regulatory and economic environment on stakeholders.

Admission criteria

Either:

  • undergraduate degree, or higher, in any discipline; or
  • associate degree, or higher, in a business discipline; or
  • advanced diploma, or higher, in a business discipline and five years‘ full-time equivalent general work experience in a related field; or
  • three years‘ full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience in a related field; or
  • other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application for all work experience listed on the application with one of the following:
– Statement of Service
– a current CV and a Confirmation of Employment. Applicants seeking admission through an established industry partnership agreement can provide an alternative to the Confirmation of Employment. This can either be a letter on employer letterhead specifying their role and length of service or the industry declaration form.
