Strength and conditioning science is the study of how the human body can adapt to various training modalities such as strength, power, speed, interval or endurance over time. The degree will broaden the employment scope for those working in the field of strength and conditioning where qualifications are increasingly essential.
The Graduate Certificate is also suitable for those people who wish to enter the strength and conditioning industry or for current fitness leaders and personal trainers who want to broaden, advance and future-proof their career.
You will learn about the fundamental scientific principles of strength and conditioning for athletic populations, including applied strength anatomy, physiological adaptations to training and neuromechanics of athletic foundation movements. You will also learn the principles of programming for strength and conditioning across the lifespan of various athletic populations and how to communicate this with a range of stakeholders. In the final subject you will integrate and apply the knowledge and skills you have gained in the earlier subjects to authentic activities, which have real-world relevance and application for strength and conditioning coaches.

This course will be offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
