About

The Master of Information Technology (Information Systems Development) involves an in-depth study of the implementation and application of IT, including how to effectively manage the organisational, economic, regulatory, and socio-technical issues that may arise.

This degree is suitable for those with and without an IT background seeking to develop the fundamental skills required to work in the sector, or to undertake a management role in which an understanding of IT implementation is essential.

The information systems development specialisation will provide you with the knowledge and skills to use various tools, techniques, frameworks, and methodologies in the process of information systems development. You will also develop an understanding of emerging technologies and security mechanisms used in the implementation of services. 

The Master of Information Technology (Information Systems Development) will prepare you for a career as a solution engineer or IT consultant.

Admission criteria

An Australian bachelor degree, or recognised equivalent, with an equivalent average mark of 60%.

Applicants with other qualifications, together with substantial relevant professional experience, should contact UOW to discuss their options.

Fees and charges

This course will be offered as a Commonwealth supported place (CSP). This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
