About
The Graduate Diploma in Engineering delivers skills and applied competencies to students who wish to further their engineering knowledge and progress to become a professional engineer. It also provides a broadening program for current professional engineers who wish to further develop their engineering skills.
This degree provides a pathway to the UOW Master of Engineering, which is professionally accredited by Engineers Australia.
You will study a core of key engineering subjects: Innovation and Design, Advanced Laboratory, Professional Communications and Engineering Workplace Practice, and Engineering Research Methods. You will undertake four elective subjects in your chosen field of either computer, electrical or telecommunications engineering.
The Graduate Diploma in Engineering is designed to train and enhance professional practice, advance technical and specialist skills, and provide an opportunity to put theory into practice with applied projects and research. The degree also delivers the strategic project management and communication skills essential for practising engineers.
Admission criteria
A recognised three-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 60%; or a four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 50%.
Fees and charges
This course will be offered as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
