This program was developed in partnership with participating health services to provide a career pathway for registered nurses to gain postgraduate qualifications in the perioperative area of nursing. The program was created to be attractive to current or newly employed perioperative nurses who wish to gain a specialty qualification that articulates with the Master of Nursing.
The program aims to provide current practicing perioperative nurses with opportunities to advance their current practice and develop knowledge and consolidate skills to function as a specialist within the perioperative field. The program will take a blended learning approach drawing on a range of healthcare experts with a focus on evidence-based and best practice developing the student along the Bennerian continuum from novice to expert.
To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing applicants must also meet the following specific requirements.
Current employment contract for the term of the program with an approved health service.
