This program introduces learners to the basic principles and methods of public health, systems thinking and environmental sustainability. The course emphasises the collection and sources of routine public health and social data, epidemiology, biostatistics and communication skills. Learners are introduced to a broad range of contemporary public health issues, including the challenges that climate change and environmental degradation pose to health and healthcare systems. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals are used as an integrating structure across the whole program. The Graduate Certificate in Public and Environmentally Sustainable Health is an articulated qualification that forms the foundation for the Graduate Diploma and/or Master of Public and Environmentally Sustainable Health.
To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Public and Environmentally Sustainable Health applicants must have, as a minimum qualification, a recognised three- or four-year bachelor degree in a related discipline.
