About

The ICMS Graduate Certificate of Information Technology is a postgraduate qualification designed to equip you with the skills to enter an IT career, or can be a pathway to a Master of Information Technology (MIT) at ICMS.

The Graduate Certificate of Information Technology will provide you with foundational ICT knowledge, focusing on core competencies.

After completing the Graduate Certificate of Information Technology, graduates will have knowledge of ICT fundamentals and will gain practical ICT skills, enabling them to make an immediate contribution within the industry.

Students will have an opportunity to study one subject from the ICMS MIT specialisation streams as a specified elective subject and explore the specialisation they may want to pursue in the future.

The ICMS Graduate Certificate of Information Technology offers:

  • 3 x Core subjects
  • 1 x Specified Elective

4 Subjects in total (16 credit points)
(Australian and New Zealand students may wish to accelerate their studies and complete this course in one trimester.)

Upon successful completion of at least two subjects in the Graduate Certificate of Information Technology, you may choose to progress, with advanced standing (credit), into one of the following master’s degrees:

The Graduate Certificate of IT will provide students with relevant industry competencies and knowledge for a successful start of a career in the ICT field.

The demand for skilled IT professionals is reflected in the various skilled migration occupations and pathways that are currently available in Australia.

The Graduate Certificate of IT could position graduates to embark on a career in a range of IT sectors that are currently identified as ‘strategic skills’ by the Australian Government.
