This course has been developed based on extensive consultation with experts in the field. It serves as a sport specific post-graduate qualification that aligns with industry requirements and expectations and that can be used as a springboard into either the workforce or further study.
This course may be suitable for:
- Professionals already working in the sport industry looking for additional education to improve their career prospects
- Professionals from other industries who want to switch to a career in sport
- People currently working in sport, such as athletes or coaches, who may not have the necessary qualifications for management roles
- Directors or committee members of sport organisations who want to enhance their skills to better contribute to their organisation.
Target roles include: Sport Membership Manager, Sport Event and Tournament Manager, Club Development Manager, Coaching and/or Officials Manager, Sponsorship and/or Partnerships Manager
The course can be completed in less than three months via full-time online study, with part-time study also an option, to assist students in balancing work or other commitments. Each unit will run over a 10-week period (a session). The course is delivered fully online, providing flexibility to tailor your study to your individual timetables. Academics will also be available for one-to-one discussion and support.
Admission criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised higher education provider or an equivalent recognised overseas qualification with demonstrated proficiency in English; or
- An Associate Diploma, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma from a recognised provider qualification, combined with at least two years of industry experience (you are required to provide a resume and a reference from an employer confirming your employment and experience, together with a personal statement about your readiness for undertaking higher education studies).
