- your personal details (name, address, email address, telephone number). Make sure the name you enter on your application matches the name on your official ID (birth certificate, citizenship documents, passport). You'll need your ID when you enrol and there may be problems if the name on your ID doesn't match your offer letter. Also ensure your email address is correct and don't use a shared email address. After you apply you'll need to check your email regularly for updates on your application.
- details of your studies and qualifications, such as current and previous preparatory courses; and both complete and incomplete certificate, diploma and degree studies (including your student number, the name of the qualification and the years you attended). You'll need to declare all your studies.
- details of your English language proficiency
- details of full-time paid employment experience of one year or more.
Selecting your course preferences
You can choose up to three course preferences.
CQUniversity will make you one offer to the course in your list of preferences for which you're eligible and competitive. If you're add more than one course to your preference list, we recommend you list your courses in the order in which you'd like to receive an offer.
| 1st preference | Your dream course – this is the course you are most passionate about and really want to study. |
|---|---|
| 2nd and 3rd preference | Your back up courses – courses that align with your interests but offer a greater chance of receiving an offer. These courses should offer a clear path to your goals. |
Nursing courses
If you select a nursing course, you will be asked to complete the nursing declaration.
Before you can start studying to become a registered nurse, you need to demonstrate a high level of English language proficiency. This will ensure you will meet the requirements for your course and for registration as a nurse.
Therefore, to apply and be considered for an offer to a nursing course, you must accept one of the following declarations:
- I declare that English is my primary language and, before the course start, I will have completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English in a recognised country, including at least two years between Years 7 and 12 in Australia or New Zealand, or one of 28 other countries accepted by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia*.
- I declare that I have undertaken/I will undertake an English language proficiency test accepted for entry to this course preference within 2 years before the course start date (minimum test results required).
- I declare that I am currently registered as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency – Nursing and Midwifery (AHPRA).
Declaration
All applicants must read and agree to the Declaration and authority. Read this carefully before accepting. Please also read CQUniversity's privacy policy.
