The Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics) is the highest qualification in Higher Education available in Australia to prepare you for a career in the dynamic fields of Dermal Therapy and Clinical Aesthetics. This three-year degree will equip you with an advanced level of knowledge and skills to combine science with clinical practice, giving you the confidence to work with clients and medical health professionals.
This degree is divided into four streams:
In your first year of study, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of professional and clinical practice while learning about skin and the integumentary system, human structure and function, and dermal therapy techniques. You will progress to more advanced subjects in your second year, such as learning about differential diagnoses in skin disorders, the chemistry of cosmetics, and advanced dermal interventions. The final year of study examines the relationships between psychology, stress, and ageing and teaches you about perioperative skin care and clinical observation techniques.

This degree is delivered in a hybrid model of online learning and authentic clinic experience. This unique delivery mode ensures you can balance your study with the other commitments you have in your life. Learn the theory of dermal therapy and health science through our online learning platform, before attending dedicated clinic blocks that provide hands-on expertise with real clients.
Note: Practical clinics are located in Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast.
Dermal therapy, human biosciences, integumentary system, light-based technology, clinical aesthetics, cosmetic chemistry, clinical practice, anti-ageing, patho-physiology, skin disorder diagnosis, nutrition, perioperative skin care.
With a strong theoretical understanding and practical experience, graduating from this degree will enable you for work in the Clinical Aesthetics industry. You will be equipped to own and operate your own clinic or work in Laser and Dermal Therapy Clinics, Wellness and Healthy Ageing, Dermatology, Cosmetic Research and Development, and Cosmetic Medicine and Surgery Clinics.

If an applicant is unable to demonstrate their academic study skills, they may be required to complete and pass an Academic Study Skills Test.
