Managing your application

You can log in to your application seven days a week, except between 2am and 5am (Sydney time). You'll need your email address and password you used when you started your application.

What you can do

After you apply, you can log back in to your application to:

  • update your contact details
  • add qualifications to your application
  • change your course preferences
  • change your password
  • view correspondence (including your offer letter)
  • download your confirmation package (which will include your Document Cover Sheet if documents are required)
  • upload documents required for your qualifications or course preferences (only if your application confirmation package contains an instruction to do so)
  • track the progress of your application.

For other changes to your application, including cancelling your application, you'll need to write to UAC as soon as possible.

Changing course preferences

After you've applied, you can add, delete or change the order of your course preferences as many times as you like before the application closing dates. Log in to your application and select ‘Update course preferences’.

If your application is unsuccessful, you can change your preferences to add alternative courses. You should order your new preferences so they are listed higher than your unsuccessful preference.

You can't change your course preferences by telephone, letter, fax or email.

Viewing correspondence

UAC will send you email messages when you receive correspondence about your application.

When you receive an alert email from UAC, log in to your application to view and download the correspondence, and take appropriate action. It is your responsibility to provide a valid email address when you apply and to then check your emails regularly, including your junk emails, for any messages from Western and UAC.

Some email accounts could place emails from Western and UAC into a junk folder. Most email accounts allow users to add names or domains to a safe list. Make sure that you add the domain .edu.au to your list of safe email contacts.

Tracking the progress of your application

You can check whether Western and UAC have received your results and finalised the assessment of your qualifications and if there are any issues preventing you from receiving an offer to any of your preferences. Once we have assessed your application, a short statement will appear under each of your qualifications and preferences. If there are no statements under your qualifications your application is still in the queue waiting to be assessed. If individual qualifications have no statements, those qualifications have not yet been processed. If you require more detailed explanations of these statements, you can read the following documents;

UAC assesses all qualifications using procedures and guidelines agreed to by Western. UAC may need to change details as entered by you in your application. These changes may be due to an error or omission in your application, or as a result of the Western assessment guidelines. If your qualification is an international qualification, UK NARIC and AEI-NOOSR are the primary sources that are used to determine the Australian equivalency of your qualification.

Authorising someone to act on your behalf

All information obtained by Western and UAC from your application is confidential. For privacy reasons we can’t discuss information relating to your application with anyone else. However, you may authorise a relative or friend to act on your behalf.

If you wish to authorise someone to act on your behalf, you must complete the appropriate section when you apply or submit a letter of authority to UAC after you apply.

The letter of authority must include:

  • the printed full name and signature of the person who will be acting on your behalf
  • your signature and
  • your Western Sydney application number.

Note: This authorisation only applies to the application process. It does NOT authorise someone to accept an offer on your behalf.

Application number

Your Western Sydney application number has eight digits. It is emailed to you when you start your application and will be printed on your Confirmation of Application.

If you lose or forget your Western Sydney application number, you can have it re-issued by calling UAC between 8.30am and 4.30pm (Sydney time) Monday to Friday on (+61 2) 9752 0200. You'll be asked some identification questions. If your details match our database we'll re-issue your application number over the phone.

Password

If you've lost or forgotten your password, visit the login screen, select 'Forgotten your password?’ and enter the email address that you used when you applied. We'll send a link to change your password via email.

Keep a record of your password as you will need this to update or modify your application.
