Fees are based on a full-time student enrolment load of 48 credit points per year, or 1.0 Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (1.0 EFTSL). Importantly, tuition fees are subject to annual review by the University, and will increase each calendar year of your study, effective at the start of each calendar year. For students enrolling in a combined degree, in most cases a single course tuition fee applies for the duration of your study in the combined degree, regardless of the units of study that are selected in each of the two qualifications (eg a B Arts and B Laws). Importantly, the indicative tuition fee listed for Year 1, 2024 is subject to annual review and will increase each year of your study in the combined degree. About
This specialised stream within the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Advanced Studies focuses on performance. You will combine your chosen principal study with orchestral/ensemble studies and chamber music, aural and harmony studies, and analysis, history and cultural studies. This specialist degree program allows you to develop as a musician and build your experience of current approaches to music. Students receive individual tuition on their instrument or voice and will be assessed in the final two years of the degree by the presentation of public recitals.
Areas of study
Principal study in jazz studies, classical instrument or vocal performance, historical performance, music theatre, drum set or non-western music. Studies are also undertaken in analysis, history and cultural studies, and music skills (aural perception, harmony and analysis). In addition to your primary music studies, you will complete units from the Open Learning Environment, and a major from Table S, with disciplines offered from areas across the University. In the fifth year, you will undertake advanced coursework and an industry, community, or entrepreneurship project.

Essential requirements for admission
Audition: In addition to the UAC application, you must register for an audition directly with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. A non-refundable administration fee is charged for all applications. Selection into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music programs is by audition and/or interview, and ATAR. You will undertake an audition in a nominated instrument or in voice.
