For Nursing: Acute care, aged care, child and adolescent health, chronic illness, clinical practice, community nursing, First Nations Peoples’ health, high acuity, mental health, pharmacology, physiology, primary health care, professional practice, social and health policy.

Registered nurses work in a range of settings and contexts including, for example, aged care, cancer care, clinical trials, research, quality and safety, community health, critical care, disaster management, education and health promotion, health policy, health management, immunisation, mental health, perioperative care, pharmaceutical industries, public health, rural and remote area health.
Professional recognition
The Master of Nursing is fully accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as a nurse in Australia with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (conditions apply).
Practical experience
A minimum of 800 hours of clinical and practical experience is undertaken throughout the course. Clinical placement experience commences at the end of semester one in the first year. Placements are located in a variety of settings, including for example, acute hospital environments, mental health and community health facilities, primary care, and in regional and rural settings. In addition to clinical placement, you will also undertake learning in clinical simulation laboratories.

Applicants with recent secondary education
Assumed Knowledge: For Arts: Depends on the majors or units of study chosen; For M Nursing: None.
Guaranteed selection rank: 80.00 for all combined Nursing courses, subject to non-ATAR criteria being met. A guide to guaranteed selection ranks.

Applicants with higher education study
The Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry) is also available as a two-year pre-registration degree for students with a previous tertiary qualification.
