^ The annual tuition fees listed are indicative fees for study in Year 1, in the 2024 calendar year only. Fees are based on a full-time student enrolment load of 48 credit points per year, or 1.0 Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (1.0 EFTSL). If your study load for the year is more or less than 1.0 EFTSL, your tuition fee will differ. Importantly, tuition fees are subject to annual review by the University, and will increase each calendar year of your study, effective at the start of each calendar year. For students enrolling in a combined degree, in most cases a single course tuition fee applies for the duration of your study in the combined degree, regardless of the units of study that are selected in each of the two qualifications (eg a B Arts and B Laws). Importantly, the indicative tuition fee listed for Year 1, 2024 is subject to annual review and will increase each year of your study in the combined degree. About
Occupational therapists work with people who have, or are at risk of having, permanent or temporary disruption to their participation in everyday life, their life roles, or daily activities. Occupational therapists use person, family and community centred approaches to help people enhance their health and quality of life by gaining new skills, changing the environment or modifying activities and life situations.
Occupational therapists work with people across the lifespan in disability, ageing, education and employment services in addition to services across the health care continuum. Occupational therapy studies involve biopsychosocial approaches to health, lifespan and community development, human anatomy, and development of occupational therapy professional competencies.

Career opportunities
Occupational therapists work in public, private and community health and human services. This includes education, disability, ageing and industry/service sectors. Occupational therapists can work as independent providers but may be members of a multidisciplinary team, or in interprofessional roles providing direct or indirect services to individuals, families, communities or organisations.
Professional recognition
Eligibility for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Practical experience
Professional practice may be in simulation units, hospitals, community organisations and specialist practices. In line with WFOT accreditations, the degree has a minimum of 1000 hours of work integrated learning embedded within the course. Placements may occur in holiday periods and at least one placement will take place outside of Sydney. You will be responsible for additional costs, including accommodation and travel.

Recommended studies: Biology.
Bridging courses are available for students who have not studied the assumed knowledge during secondary school.
