About

A Bachelor of Business in International Hotel and Resort Management provides the knowledge and skills necessary to manage an hotel, a resort or an accommodation-based business anywhere in the world. Our live on campus hands-on program provides experience in all aspects of day-to-day operations, including guest relations, housekeeping, food and beverage, and hotel management.  

While studying the Bachelor of Business (International Hotel & Resort Management) course, you’ll live on-site for two terms at our Practical Learning Centre, Leura campus in the Blue Mountains. The Leura campus operates as a simulated hotel, where students are both guest and staff. From guest relations, front office management, food and beverage to housekeeping and property management, you will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of day-to-day operations. During the course, you will also gain practical experience through industry work placement programs. The final six months will focus on purely on business management. These classes will be held at our non-residential, Executive Business Centre, in the Sydney-Town Hall campus.

Ideal for students with a passion for hotel management, hospitality and providing world class experiences. This course will suit people who are keen to put theoretical knowledge into practice and are seeking a career that will potentially take them around the world, working across diverse sectors in a variety of roles.

Learning outcomes:

  • Master the business side of hotel management, including marketing and finance.
  • Understand all aspects of hotel operations, including housekeeping, front office duties, and kitchen and bar operations.

Note: This course is only available at Blue Mountains campus locations. Study option is only On-campus.

Essential requirements for admission

Year 12 qualification: Applicants must have completed Year 12 or equivalent.

Minimum age: Applicants must be at least 17 years and 9 months at the start of the first term.

Interview: Applicants will be invited to attend an interview at our Sydney campus. The interview process is designed to ascertain the applicant’s suitability for our courses and encompasses behavioural, situational and general knowledge questions.
