About

The Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) builds your foundation in Health Science. You will study clinical assessment, herbal and nutritional medicine therapeutics. You can choose from an elective bank of subjects including traditional naturopathic modalities, advanced clinical nutrition, counselling or public health. You will gain hands-on experience at The Practice Wellbeing Centre where you will consult with members of the
public under the guidance of experienced naturopaths. This will prepare you to confidently start practice in the community.

  • Explore an array of traditional healing methods from across human history.
  • Consider the role of naturopathy within a community context.

Areas of study

Biological foundations, botany and herbal manufacturing, clinical assessment, complementary medicine foundations, herbal material medica, human biochemistry, human nutrition, human structure and physiology.

Practical experience

Work-Integrated Learning and Clinical Practicum Experience are embedded throughout the course and are incorporated into theory subjects. You will complete most clinic requirements in our custom-built University Student-led Clinic - The Practice Wellbeing Centre. You will gain hands on experience by consulting with members of the public under the guidance of experienced practitioners.

Work placement hours: 360 hours clinical placement and 75 hours Work-Integrated Learning

Industry Placement Program
All students enrolled in an associate degree or above undertake an 800-hour paid industry placement program which involves working in a hospitality, tourism, restaurant or event organisation in Australia or overseas.

Students graduate with hands-on experience and valuable industry connections. Many also graduate with an offer to continue working within the company in which they completed their placement. William Blue has strong partnerships with some of the industry’s leading hotels, restaurants, and event and tourism agencies.

Throughout the year students will gain valuable work experience at events such as Fashion Week, Vivid, Le Montage and Taste of Sydney Festival.
