The Bachelor of Business (Event Management) covers every aspect of planning and running major events. Choose from electives to tailor your event management degree to your specific interests. Gain relevant, real-world experience with one of our acclaimed Torrens University industry partners.

This course will help you learn how to bring events to life. You’ll learn how to come up with creative themes and formats and manage clients to ensure their expectation for an event is met. Gain a thorough understanding of the legal, marketing, financial and strategic concepts in event management. The course provides practical industry skills in project, strategic and event management and have the option to specialize in hospitality, tourism, marketing, public relations and advertising.

Learning outcomes:

  • Create smooth-running large-scale events, leaving guests satisfied.
  • Launch eye-catching and exciting marketing strategies based around functions.
  • Develop experience in handling logistical issues and problem-solving on the fly.
  • Master the managerial and delegation skills that make running great events possible.

Practical experience

Placement of the students with an endorsed host organisation(s) that provide a valuable resource for you to develop hands-on practical experience to ensure you graduate confident and job ready.
A key task will be the completion of a reflective journal covering the experience and the identification and analysis of key learning outcomes.

Work placement hours: 300 hours
