La Trobe's Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Global Studies is an immersive and flexible double degree giving you the skills and knowledge to succeed.
Your law degree will introduce you to the fundamentals of legal practice and build your skills in advocacy, negotiation, and dispute resolution. At the same time, your global studies degree will immerse you in a wide range of global issues.
When it comes to learning, there's no substitute for hands-on experience. At La Trobe, you'll have the opportunity to take on real-world work placements and shape your studies with a choice of five curated majors – international relations, conflict and negotiation, Asian politics and security, government and policy, and human rights.

Career opportunities
Foreign affairs, humanitarian advocacy, barrister or solicitor, in-house legal counsel, policy analyst. This course satisfies the academic requirements for admission to practise law in Victoria.

Practical experience
During this course, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Work Based Learning (WBL) placement experience, designed to allow you to extend your formal academic learning beyond the classroom. The WBL experience will provide the opportunity to bring your learning from the university into a work environment and test out your knowledge in a professional real-world environment.

Admission criteria
Applicants with recent secondary education
Subject adjustments: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 subjects will have their selection rank increased by one point per study:
- Band 5 in English as an Additional Language or Dialect;
- Band 4 in English Standard, English Advanced;
- Band 3 in Ancient History, Business Studies, Economics, Financial Services, Geography, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Legal Studies, Modern History, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Studies of Religion II, Society and Culture;
- Band 2 in any Language other than English.
Selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.
