In La Trobe’s Bachelor of Information Technology, you’ll gain hands-on skills across programming, networking, databases, systems analysis and design, and project management. You’ll also be able to choose a major in areas aligned to future industry growth, including artificial intelligence, cloud analytics, cybersecurity, network engineering or information systems.

Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Subject adjustments: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 subjects will have their selection rank increased by one point per study:

  • Band 3 in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Engineering Studies, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Physics, Software Design and Development;
  • Band 2 in any language other than English.

Selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
