In La Trobe’s Bachelor of Agriculture, you’ll explore issues that are set to dominate the future of agriculture, including unpredictable water supply, climate change, food security, environmental impacts of agriculture, and sustainable cropping and grazing systems.

Practical experience

During this course, you will participate in one or more supervised Work Based Learning (WBL) placements designed to allow you to practise newly acquired skills, behaviours and knowledge while integrating theory with practice. The placements will immerse you in professional work culture, enabling you to develop and further enhance your skills.

Prerequisites

One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 2), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 3) plus  Band 2 in one of Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced or Mathematics Extension 2.

Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Subject adjustments: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 subjects will have their selection rank increased by one point per study:

  • Band 3 in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Physics
  • Band 2 in any language other than English

Selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
