^ The annual tuition fees stated in this table are published for guidance only and are based on the normal annual (two semester) full-time enrolment of courses entirely in the discipline area of the degree (ie only Science courses for a BSc or only Arts courses for a BA). If you take more than a normal load in a year, you will pay more than the indicative annual fee; if you take less than the normal load, you will pay less. You also may pay more or less if you take courses from another discipline area as part of your degree. Tuition fees do not include the Overseas Student Health Cover premium.

Our Bachelor of Health Science provides skills to fill gaps in the Australian health care system and prepares you to work in a multidisciplinary health industry.

This health science degree offers strong health industry connections and course content which leads to a career in health policy and research, health and wellbeing or health promotion. This course also offers a pathway into master level studies if you wish to pursue a career in occupational therapy, nutrition, speech and language therapy, health research and public health.

A core part of the course is the community project which provides opportunity to put your knowledge into practice supported by CDU academic staff. Our Bachelor of Health Science offers international study opportunities and welcomes both First Nations and international students with dedicated support services on hand to support you through your degree.

Students are eligible to apply for membership with the Australian Health Promotion Association and the Public Health Association of Australia.

Practical experience

You will complete 220 hours of community-based project placement with a health organisation. As this course requires you to undertake a community project, you must demonstrate compliance with the following checks and requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct documentation is obtained prior to commencing the community project. A national and/or international police check and a current Working with Children check is required regarding suitability to undertake clinical/fieldwork placements.

Fees and charges

The Australian Government pays part of the tuition fee for this course. The remaining balance is paid by the student. Current CDU fee information.
