About

Graduates are equipped with the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their application. They have a strong aptitude for mathematics and can explore and create solutions to computing trends and developments. This degree is differentiated from other IT courses through its foundational knowledge, especially in mathematics and research methods, providing students with an opportunity to continue to a doctorate.

Practical experience

Industrial training is available as an additional year by enrolling in the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice. The Diploma comprises a minimum of nine months’ full-time internship and supporting subjects at UTS.

Graduates are eligible to apply for professional-level membership of the Australian Computer Society.

Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Extension 1, any 2 units of English.

Recommended studies: English Advanced.
