The Bachelor of Criminology, with an extended major in Data Analytics and Research, equips students to navigate the evolving landscape of 21st-century crime and justice, with a focus on the digital and transnational aspects. Tailored for those embarking on their careers or seeking to enhance their skills to meet industry demands, this program provides students with the techniques and abilities necessary for conducting data analysis and research. This includes the capacity to detect, investigate, and track crime and related issues, as well as evaluate the efficacy of interventions.
The curriculum seamlessly integrates these applied skills with a foundation of practical social science knowledge and training that is essential for professions dedicated to crime prevention, detection, enforcement, and addressing the broader social implications and challenges associated with crime and justice.
Strategically designed to meet both current and future employment demands, the course strikes a balance between addressing industry needs and fostering critical skills essential for navigating, transforming, and future-proofing professions and industries at the forefront of combating crime. Through sustained industry engagement throughout the entire course, graduates are well-prepared to pursue diverse careers across all government levels, in criminal justice including policing/law enforcement and corrections, border protection, the private sector (including financial or insurance industries), or within community organisations focused on crime prevention, reduction, and rehabilitation.
