Fees are based on a full-time student enrolment load of 48 credit points per year, or 1.0 Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (1.0 EFTSL). If your study load for the year is more or less than 1.0 EFTSL, your tuition fee will differ. Importantly, tuition fees are subject to annual review by the University, and will increase each calendar year of your study, effective at the start of each calendar year. For students enrolling in a combined degree, in most cases a single course tuition fee applies for the duration of your study in the combined degree, regardless of the units of study that are selected in each of the two qualifications (eg a B Arts and B Laws). About
This double degree offers a pathway from undergraduate study in architecture, including embedded honours, to postgraduate study that leads to professional accreditation or articulation into a research degree. Your studies are based on the principles of critical thinking about design and the built environment, and on professionally relevant research. In addition to the studios and practical experience provided by 513115 Bachelor of Design in Architecture, you will undertake studies in theory and design-based practice that are specific to the double degree program. You will be taught by leading researchers and industry professionals and will benefit from their experience and professional networks. An academic mentorship is integral to the honours component.
Areas of study
Architectural communications, architectural design, architectural history and theory, architectural technologies, critical thinking, professional practice, research methodology. Electives may be taken both within the School and from other areas of the University. You will also complete an honours dissertation before progressing to the Master of Architecture.

Professional recognition
Accredited for professional recognition by the NSW Architects Registration Board, the Australian Institute of Architects, and the Commonwealth Association of Architects following completion of requisite amount of practical experience and successful completion of the Architectural Practice Examination. This degree has international recognition.
Practical experience
Dedicated studios and computer laboratories with 24-hour access; analogue and digital fabrication equipment in the design modelling and fabrication labs.

Portfolio admissions pathway
You are invited to submit a portfolio of work in support of your application for Architecture and Design courses. The portfolio will be considered as part of your application if your ATAR (or equivalent) is up to five points below the guaranteed ATAR for your desired course. The portfolio should demonstrate your skills and interest in design and creativity, as well as your capacity to succeed in academic study. The portfolio may include for example, artwork, architectural work, web design or development, 3D modelling, technical drawing or written work.
The portfolio should be submitted to the University at the same time you submit you UAC application. Please note that the portfolio admissions pathway is only open to domestic applicants.
